Legal & General Home Finance has become the latest lender to join the Intermediary Mortgage Lenders Association, bringing the total number of IMLA members to 41. The company, which is one of the leading providers of lifetime mortgages in the UK, is the first lender focused on the later life market to join the trade association.
Marie Catch, Head of Mortgage Broker Sales at Legal & General Home Finance, will be the company’s representative at IMLA meetings.
Legal & General Home Finance launched into the lifetime mortgage market in 2015 and has since grown to become the sector’s largest provider of equity release products.

The Intermediary Mortgage Lenders Association (IMLA) is the trade association that represents mortgage lenders who lend to UK consumers and businesses via the broker channel. Its membership of 41 banks, building societies and specialist lenders include 16 of the 20 largest UK mortgage lenders (measured by gross lending) and account for about 90% of mortgage lending (89.4% of balances and 90.6% of gross lending).
